In recent years, our company has decided to strive to be more sustainable, focusing especially on environmental friendliness, proper management of aspects related to workers, innovation and technology.
There are several parameters that a company must take into account in order to implement sustainable strategies, and they are summarized in the acronym ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance).
Sustainability embraces not only aspects related to the environment and its preservation, but also of the people who work and collaborate with the company and the social context in which they operate. It therefore refers to:
- Environmental sustainability: how a company contributes to environmental challenges and combating climate change,
- Social sustainability: how a company manages workplace safety, workers' rights, equality, ..
- Economic sustainability: how a company produces value for the community, the organization and all relevant stakeholders, for example investment in technology, innovation, digitization, ...
Our company has been committed over the past decade to adopting behaviors and measures to embrace various aspects of sustainability.
Recently Stocchero Attilio purchased two electric cars that run on batteries and an electric motor instead of a combustion engine. These vehicles rely on renewable energy sources and produce zero emissions, making them a sustainable means of transportation. In addition, the company has installed a charging station that allows two electric vehicles to be quickly recharged at the same time, which can be used by employees, customers and collaborators.

To reduce CO2 emissions, the company has also chosen to use intermodal transportation. This transportation methodology consists of using different means (ship, train or truck) to transport goods to their destination, allowing them to be combined to save electricity and reduce environmental pollution.
The company also uses solar energy to reduce its environmental impact: a photovoltaic system with 866 panels has been installed on our company warehouses, so as to improve the company's energy efficiency, reducing costs and CO2 emissions. Thus, the use of a photovoltaic system significantly curbs expenses and at the same time reduces the emission of polluting gases into the air.

At the social level, we strive every day to better manage the safety of our workers and employees. In fact, we have obtained ISO 45001, an international standard that specifies the requirements for an occupational health and safety (OH&S) management system. This standard aims to create a healthy and safe working environment for both employees and visitors, keeping in check the elements that could lead to injury or illness.
Finally, since 2018, the company has been pioneering investments in Industry 4.0 with innovative machinery and technology to process about 1,100,000 SQM of slabs annually and effectively meet market needs. Some of our slab processing machinery has been changed in recent years; the most recent production lines are the Pedrini marble polishing line and the Pedrini B460MW resin line, complete with robotic arm and modern microwave system to ensure the best result while saving time, cost and energy.
These are just a few of the steps Stocchero Attilio has taken to improve environmental impact, worker management in terms of safety and rights, and investment in innovation and new technologies. Our journey towards sustainability does not stop here, in the future we will try to support more and more all aspects and factors that lead our reality to be environmentally, socially and economically sustainable.
